About the Project

The Weather Channel was looking for real-life weather stories focusing on people whose lives were remarkably affected by the weather. We put out a “call for stories” across our entire network. Out of the 35 finalists, the Weather Channel chose one story about a man who runs a tour on the Venezuelan lake Catatumbo where the highest frequency of lightning in the world occurs.

We shot this story with a crew of two, including a drone operator, over seven days in remote Venezuela. All editing was done in-house.
